How to Use ChatGPT to Promote Your Podcast

Should you be using ChatGPT for your podcast?

Yes!

With just three simple steps, you can take your podcast episodes and use the AI platform to create amazing content to promote your show.

Step 1. Transcribe Your Podcast Episode

This is super easy to do if you have RSS.com as your podcast host because they have released automated transcription for every episode.

Transcribing your podcast episodes helps make them accessible to audience members that are deaf and hard of hearing. Including your transcript in your RSS feed also makes it much more likely to be found by new and current listeners.

Step 2. Add Your Transcript to Chat GPT and Add Prompts

With a free or premium Chat GPT account you can load your transcript and give the platform prompts to generate content for a variety of things including:

Prompt 1 - “Can you remove the timestamps from the following transcript? Also add natural line breaks.”

This prompt will deliver a clean version of your transcript that is perfect for inserting into a blog post. Add a few subheads and voila! Blog post practically written for you!

Note: As of April 2023, you can only add about 4 minutes of audio transcription to your prompt at a time and you will only receive about 500-650 words back from this prompt regardless of whether you have a free account or ChatGPT Plus.

We played with the platform a lot to learn this. The good news is you can repeat your prompt multiple times with different pieces of your transcript to get content from your entire episode.

Hopefully, ChatGPT and ChatGPT plus will increase the length of a prompt’s input and output in the near future.

Prompt 2 - “Now also use the above transcript to pull out five quotes.”

These pull quotes can help you create awesome social media posts in minutes.

Imagine being able to copy a quote and paste it into Canva for an instant graphic card for Facebook or Instagram!

Step 3 - Take Your ChatGPT Outputs and Make Content

That transcript you removed the timestamps from? You can use that in your blog posts.

Those pull quotes? Talk about amazing content for social media graphics and status updates.

You can also use prompts to write a blog post from your transcript, come up with an episode title, and even write your show notes for you!

Chat GPT and other AI tools for podcasting are making the lives of podcasters everywhere much easier. And thanks to automatic transcription from RSS.com, you can supercharge your podcast repurposing with ease.
